It is a very tedious job.   I realized it might be useful to post and translate names from these lists for YOU. This information was forwarded to me through the MGSA mailing list (Modern Greek Studies Association)  Kosta Dalageorgas writes: I take this opportunity to mention here what might be the first book with Greek-and-Turkish face-to-face text:  Thomas Sideris' ΟΙ ΔΙΚΟΙ ΜΑΣ ΞΕΝΟΙ - BIZIM YABANCILAR  ("Our Own Foreigners"), published last year in Athens, deals with the Lausanne Treaty and the resulting stories of Greek and Turkish exchanges:  it is a small but honest and informative book. [A story that stands out concerns an old Turkish lady's tearful recollection of the execution of a Greek butcher by French soldiers (in WWI Greece) ... just because he did not deliver his gun. Elsewhere in the book ... Ataturk is directly accused by a Greek refugee for atrocities in Pontus, while a Turkish refugee states that life for them in Ioannina became difficult only after the start of the Asia Minor Campaign....

New Map Old Map In Review: January 2011, Greece Overhauled Administrative Divisions, Regions and Municipalities From 1 January 2011, in accordance with the Kallikratis plan (Law 3852/2010), the administrative system of Greece was drastically overhauled. The  former system of 13 regions, 54 prefectures and 1033 municipalities and communities was replaced by 7 decentralized administrations, 13 regions and 325 municipalities. The David Rumsey Map Collection and Blog This is a really interesting site.  It has over 30,000 historical maps that you can view online, zoom in, etc.  Most of them are rare 18th and 19th century maps.   A search of the word " Greece " gave results for 365 maps. A search on the word " Turkey " gave results for 407 maps. A search on the word " Ottoman " gave results for 10 maps.

There are always several inquiries from GREEK BORN ADOPTEES looking for their natural parents.
