Austria, Mauthausen/Gusen Concentration Camp Death Record Books - 1938-1945 I searched this database for people who were recorded with GREECE AS THEIR PLACE OF BIRTH .  The results showed 185 PRISONERS BORN IN GREECE .  I have transcribed those names and listed them below for your review. Personal note:  Quite a few of these Greek prisoners are listed with the "Reason for Arrest" being "Politisch (Political)" or "Schutz (Protective Custody)", while others, of course, are listed as "Jude (Jew)". Historical background: (from Ancestry.com and JewishGen.org) Mauthausen, located 20 km from Linz, Austria, was set up in 1938, after the "Anschluss of Austria."
