FamilySearch.org has a new FREE database titled " New Jersey, Naturalization records from various counties, 1905-1944 ".  It includes 757 people listed as being born in Greece and an additional 181 born in Turkey. This collection contains naturalization records from the counties of Newark, Trenton, and Camden counties in the state of New Jersey. The federal records are originally housed at The National Archives office in New York. Ancestry.com has a new database titled "SWEDEN, EMIGRATION REGISTERS, 1869-1948 I did a search on Country of Birth.  It is transcribed in Swedish, so I searched on "Grekland" which is Greece in Swedish. There were 3 people with obvious Greek names. G. C. Chemelis - birth abt 1840 - ship departure date 24 May 1872 Emmanuel Malias - birth abt 1858 - ship departure date 7 Sept 1877 Georges Otza - birth abt 1859 - ship departure date 7 Sept 1877 You will be able to view the actual Emigration Register and a typed transcription of the record.

The study focuses specifically on those Greek immigrants who were involved in the confectionery trade, opening candy stores (often accompanied by soda fountains and restaurants) in the small towns and cities of rural Illinois.
