"ALEXANDER BROTHERS are undoubtedly among the most enterprising and prosperous representatives of the agricultural industry of San Joaquin County [California].  On their vast farm every modern method is applied and progress and efficient system characterises the whole enterprise.  The story of their success is short.

All three brothers graduated from the high school of their native country, and they left Greece in order to travel and widen their knowledge and experience.  After 2 years they landed in New York.  Since then they tried different trades in various towns of the U.S.  In 1916 they abandoned the barber trade, which they had carried on successfully in San Francisco, and gave themselves heart and soul to farming.  They left for San Joaquin County where they leased the A. W. Franklin ranch 7 miles N. W. of Lodi.  In 1919 Christ entered the U.S. Army and was sent to France where he took an active part in many battles, especially Chatteau Thierry where he was severely wounded by shrapnel while charging the enemy.  Returning from France all three brothers resumed farming in earnest and by 1919 their success was assured.  They bought 20 acres of the best vineyard land half a mile N. of Victor.  In 1921 they bought 40 more acres of the same land 5 miles N.W. of Woodbridge.

This is a typical example of the Greek immigrant.  A few years ago Alexander Brothers; Thomas, Christ and Alexander were very poor.  Now they are prosperous and ready for bigger enterprises."
