Jewish Gravestones Discovered in Thessaloniki

"Hundreds of Jewish marble headstones, dumped in a lot located in Stavroupoli, one of Thessaloniki's central districts, have been placed at the Jewish cemetery of the area .....

"A total of 668 parts of marble headstones, some of them engraved, were found in a plot that belonged to an 83-year-old man.  The headstones were from the old jewish cemetery that was destroyed by the Nazis during WWII, which led to the looting of the graves and the scattering of the headstones across the city.  .....
